Well you may have already heard news about the “Pogo stylus” for the iPod Touch/iPhone back in late November, 2007. If you haven’t here is a pic. By the way, these babies will set you back $24.95.
Now get ready for the new and improved version. Well, the business version anyway. This goes out to all of the suit wearing Japanese folks out there.
The folks over at Princeton have developed the PIP-TP(Touch Pen for the iPod Touch)
This unique gadget is just what you want in the winter time when you don’t want to take your hands out of your gloves. With it’s special made tip and aluminum casing, it is just right for the business professional in mind. It also has a springy neck next to the tip. You can even use it for slide actions.
It is about 5mm thick and about 89mm in length and weighs 10g. It will set you back about the same price as the Pogo. ¥1,980yen
They currently only have one model. The PIP-TPS(silver) Don’t worry though for all of you non-professionals out there, they were thinking of you too. They will soon have the PIP-TPB(Black).

Ah, agreed. The silver just won’t match the touch as well as the black.
I hope the black is out within a couple of weeks — I’d love to pick one up before my end-of-the-month overseas business trip.

Thanks for the comments. I appreciate it. I am new to the whole news type site and it is a bit overwhelming. Sorry that it is a bit slow at the moment. I am really trying to track down some good sources for here in Japan and such. Please bare with me. It is in the beginning phases. Well, I decided to pick one up this past weekend after all. Bic only has the silver version so far. It looks really nice and is solidly built. However, the tip of the stylus isn’t very soft (sort of like a hard plastic) and I didn’t find it to be all that great on the glass of the IPT. It works OK, but you have to be holding it at a certain angle — otherwise, the IPT doesn’t seem to recognize it.
I don’t feel like it was a complete waste of money, but I’m not sure it was worth the full 2,000 yen.
I’d like to try one of the Pogo models to see how those compare.
