In todays news, it seems that Zibri, the creator of the popular Ziphone has discovered a very interesting piece of information.
With the release of the newest beta software for the iPhone, Zibri found a small piece of information in the packaging that confirms that 3G will be coming to the iPhone.
What was revealed was the implementation of a new chipset in the iPhone. The Infineon S-GOLD3H. What is this you ask? It is Infineon’s baseband processor that will be used in the up coming iPhone.
S-GOLD3H: Infineon’s baseband processor supports HSDPA (High-Speed Downlink Packet Access) data rates of up to 7.2 megabits per second (Mbit/s) for the mid-range multimedia phone segment.
With this new chip, data rates will double. People will awe and drool and the iPhone will again be breaking barriers with its new unleashed power.
Infineon states. . .
“Infineon strives for innovative integration of functionalities into its chips to provide our customers with a wide range of reference platforms designed for all segments of the mobile industry, from ultra-low-cost phones to feature phones, including technology ranging from 2G, or second generation, to 3.5G. Our new HSDPA chip enables more than triple the data rates possible in mass market phones today. This makes broadband multimedia applications, such as video streaming or high-speed audio/ video download, available to the mass market,” said Professor Dr. Hermann Eul, Member of the Board and head of the Communication Solutions business group at Infineon Technologies AG. “The scalability, versatility and completeness of our latest reference design platform enable our customers to meet extremely challenging time-to-market requirements when evolving from 2.75G phones to 3G and 3.5G phones, while being flexible enough to quickly adapt to changing markets.”
So folks, get ready for a roller coaster of events to be rolling out within the next couple of months.
Maybe finally, us folks over here in Japan will be able to bask in the glory of owning a new 3G iPhone soon.
Thanks to AppleInsider for the tip
Thanks to Zibri from ZiPhone for the pic

That’s right folks, you heard me right. You too can have the chance to win $50 in prizes.
It is rather simple. My friend over at installerapps.com is holding this contest for the whole month of April.
All you have to do is sign in at his site(you have to register to comment) and find your favorite installer app for the iPod touch or iPhone and give a rating. Simple as that. You can rate as many apps as you like however, please be fair and rate the apps with honesty. Installerapps.com will be monitoring the ratings so no cheating.
I will be picking a ‘rating’ made during the month of April. It doesn’t matter when the post was made(you can go back and rate applications from last month, from January, etc. . .). It just matters that the rating was done in this month.
The winner gets to pick a prize(or multiple) from Amazon.com. . .that totals no more than 50 USD(including shipping).
So, why not? Have you got anything better to do? Earning this prize couldn’t be easier.
Be sure to check it out before May 1st or you’ll lose your chance at this amazing deal.
If you missed that link, here it is again. Installerapps.com

Rumor has it that ol’ Steve has put in a 10 million iPhone order. But that’s not all. Those 10 million iPhones are rumored to be 3G.
An iPhone research analyst for Gartner, Ken Dulaney reports that his sources tell him that this new revelation iPhone is rumored to have a better display, longer battery life and a more slim design.
If this pans out to be true, us folks over here in Japan may very well be seeing a bright and shiny new iPhone here by the middle of the year. Let’s keep our fingers crossed.
