UPDATE IN RED
Come one, come all folks. Now is your chance to become popular with the Touchmods team and chance to win a FREE Touchmods Mic or Touchmods headset.
That’s right. You heard me right. You too could be one of the lucky winners.
The Touchmods team is looking for some very special coders.
They will be giving away a Touchmods Headset and two Touchmods Microphones for the best 3 coders.
There is no catch, it is for free. The only thing you need to do is to download the source-code of the previous SIP-VoIP app and implement any of their requested features.
You will need to act fast though. This offer is only good until the end of april.
Here are some of the featured items that are wanted:
- internal Touch Buzzer Control (Andreas?)
- optimization of a compression algorithm in order to save bandwidth (ASM coders?)
- link to the internal Calendar (we have the API, thnx Metabaron)
- circular buffers for Incoming, Ougoing, Missed calls
- implementing similar trick to the “iClarified Volume Boost” hack
- “Disconnecting” button Label similar to “Connecting”
- R+L channels both active (Samuel?)
- using other Speech Codecs (with lower bandwidth needed)
- running two providers at the same time (one for receiving, and one for initiatin’ calls)
- GUI-based volume control inside the VoIP app
- iPhone internal Mic input
If you have any questions regarding the contest, feel free to contact me using my contact form or leave a comment.

The Touchmods announced the release of their latest software. SIP-VoIP version 1.2
Some of the added improvements are:
- Running in the background. Basically means that it will run all the time so that you can receive calls at anytime. You will have to manually quit from within the application if you want to shut it down.
- Want a ringtone. Well, add your own. New support for .mp3 files.
- Solved saving problems with new file location
- More pics in the skins
If you want to to find out more about this, head over to the Touchmods site for the latest or if you have any questions.
You can download this over at the Touchmods site or you should be able to add via Installer.
Enjoy

Just a few days ago I posted about the Touchmods team splitting into two sections to work on the projects. One for the iPod touch and one for the iPhone. If you went to the Touchmods site and read their article you may have noticed one thing.
What is more, we do consider opening the Touch SIP-VoIP version for external developers.
DEVELOPERS, here is your chance. Today the Touchmods team released the 1.1 code for their project.
Lets see what you all can do with it!! You can find it on the sidebar of their website or you can go directly to the Touchmods Google page and download the code directly.
Enjoy!

You saw the fabulous videos of the iBand in action. Great aren’t they? Well, for all of the Musicians out there, the Touchmods team have you in mind as well!
The Touchmods team think something is missing from that group. What you ask? An Audio Recording App! That’s what.
Again, the Touchmods team is reaching out to you. To the loyal supporters of the Touchmods team. If you have any GUI or coding experience and want to help the Touchmods team out here is what they are looking for and what they have to offer.
Here is what they have in mind.
- recording in PCM format at different Sampling rates (16, 32, 44.1kHz)
- recording in Stereo through the Line-in pins of the Touch
- level-meter that shows the signal intensity while recording
- memory meter that shows the available memory (in MB or remaining seconds)
- etc.
Here are their requests.
First, we ask the designers to come up with a nice GUI layout that has all the needed buttons and setting options you think are needed for such an application. The best GUI design will be awarded by a free white Touchmods mic!
For the coders We provide the solution for reading the Line Input of the Touch. Everything you create here will stay free, and open-source.
So if you think that this is something that you can do and want to be part of the Touchmods revolution, go on over to their site and leave a comment to sign up.
Touchmods team. . . You never cease to amaze me!! Great work.

It’s true!! Just not like you are thinking though.
Touchmods team announced today that the team would soon separate. Into two groups, that is. Had ya going for a minute though huh?
The team announced today that they plan on making 2 groups. 1 of which develops for the iPhone and one team to develop for the iPod touch.
Touchmods went on further to say that their software will forever be free!! With this new idea, it is purposed that the Touchmods team will be juggling feats of magic. Working on solutions for everyone.
Read the rest of the story here.
[UPDATE] The words in bold, I have corrected. I was mistaken and used Software and Hardware. The corrected words are above.
Sorry Touchmods team for the mistake.

The Touchmods team is now giving you the opportunity to, as they say “Hack the Hack”. Quite an interesting terminology however, oh so, appropriate.
Coming soon to the Touchmods repository, you will find a very interesting item.
The surprice is NOT that the App is free and open for all providers, but Samuel did implement a little trick that will disable the SW after using it for two weeks.
Ok folks, it’s time to break out your treasure hunting tools. If you can figure out how to rearrange a couple of certain numbers you can stop the deadline of using the software.
Word is also, that if someone just so happens to post the answer up over there. The post will be left for everyone to see. Educational purposes you know.
See the rest of this over at “Hack the Hack“
